Capture Your Moment Photo Sessions: A Complete Guide

When you visit the Walt Disney World Resort, capturing those memories is one of the best parts of your visit. That is one reason why the Disney PhotoPass Service and Memory Maker are such great add-ons to your vacation package. However, have you ever wanted to have your own private photo session in one of the parks? Now, you can do just that. This is your guide to Capture Your Moment Photo Sessions, now available at all four parks at the Walt Disney World Resort.

What is a Capture Your Moment Photo Session?

A Capture Your Moment Photo Session is a private photo session with a Disney PhotoPass Photographer. Each session consists of approximately 20 minutes with two photographers, customized to what you would like your photos to be. It is a great way to get some personalized family photos, celebrate a special occasion, or just capture some magical Disney memories!

These sessions are perfect for special celebrations or just because! Some examples of occasions that you may want to celebrate include:

• Birthday
• Graduation
• Engagement
• Anniversary
• Gender Reveal
• Family Photos
• Just Because!

There are also props available to use during your session so don’t hesitate to ask or to let your photographer know what you are celebrating!

Where Can I Have My Photo Session Done?

Magic Kingdom

For a session in the Magic Kingdom, guests meet their photographers in Town Square at the Disney PhotoPass desk. From there, you choose where you would like to go to get your photos taken.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, meet your photographers at the information desk located outside of Island Mercantile.

 EPCOT

Meet your Disney PhotoPass photographer in the American Adventure pavilion, next to the Kidcot Fun Stop and Art of Disney. From there, your photographer will escort you to the selected location. Choose from the American Adventure Pavilion, Italy Pavilion, Germany Pavilion, Japan Pavilion, or Morocco Pavilion.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Your photographer will be waiting for you at Sid Cahuenga’s One-of-a-Kind to escort you to the selected location for your session. Locations may include Hollywood Boulevard, Echo Lake, Sunset Boulevard, or another location. Please note, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is not available for these sessions.

How Do I Schedule?

To schedule your photo session, check online or call (407) 939 – 7758. These sessions can be booked up to 60 days in advance and go quickly so it’s recommended to book ahead of time. Limited walk-up appointments MAY be available.

When you book, the appointment is good for up to 8 guests. You may also request a specific photographer if you would like and note any celebrations or special occasions. Please note, this is not guaranteed as it is based on the schedule and availability. The sessions start at $99, with each one being 20 minutes long. It is possible to book more than one appointment too, which gives added flexibility.

What To Expect

The photographers at each session are truly amazing! The best thing about these sessions is that they can be personalized to exactly what you are looking for. When you arrive, the photographer will ask what you have in mind for the session – if you have any specific places where you want the photos to be taken, any specific shots, what combinations of your travel party you want, etc. This feels very personalized and ensures that you get what you’re hoping for! Your photographer will map out a plan and then you’re on your way!

Two cast members participate in the session. One will take the photos and the second one assists as necessary with lighting, posing, getting the kids’ attention, etc. In addition, the second cast member had a sign that read “Capture Your Moment” photo session to ensure other guests knew it was a private session.

The sessions move pretty quickly but don’t feel rushed. The photographers were pros at getting great shots and doing so quickly. This is even the case when kids get a bit rambunctious! At the end of each session, you are asked if there were any other photos that you wanted.

Typically, each session results in at least 25-30 photos! It takes a little bit for the photos to show up in your account but they usually do within an hour or so.

The best part though? The candid shots are wonderful! The photographers often encourage kids to play or to interact with loved ones. The result is some AMAZING candid photos! That wasn’t something I asked for but they are certainly something I will treasure.

Tips/Tricks

Arrive for the sessions a little early, ideally 10-15 minutes ahead of time. You will be checked in and asked about any special occasions.

Be sure to arrive early to make sure everyone is ready to go for the photo session. Use the restroom, fix your hair, etc. while you wait for the photographer so that you are ready to walk around the park when it’s time.

These photo sessions are available for booking throughout the day. Early in the morning or late afternoon are often ideal times. This is especially the case if you have kids participating so you can plan accordingly for naps, mealtimes, etc. The photographers are wonderful to work with but it’s recommended to schedule a session that will work best for your schedule.

If you are interested in doing one of these photo sessions, it’s HIGHLY recommended that you purchase Memory Maker. This will allow you to have all of the photos from your session. Otherwise, you will have to purchase the pictures you want individually.

Overall, these photo sessions are a great way to have a personalized experience at the parks and get some great photos in the process!
