Here’s a step by step plan on how to make sure you solidify your spot on this extra special experience:
Reserving Your Spot!
Be sure to discuss your desire to do the Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps tour with your Key to the World Travel® Planner, who will be happy to make any reservations for you. For my own trip, I contacted Tour Reservations EXACTLY thirty days prior to my desired tour date. Spaces are limited and fill up quick so if a tour is what you have in mind you need to snatch it up quick.
Full payment must be made at the time of booking so make sure to have your choice of payment method available.
Be sure to record your confirmation number. You will need this in order to verify your reservation upon arrival!
Time to Tour!
I arrived at the Disneyland® Main Gate a full 30-minutes prior to check-in time, as suggested by the cast member who assisted me with my Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps reservation.
We met at Guided Tour Gardens, which is to the left-hand side as soon as you enter Disneyland® Park. This area includes a courtyard with a Gazebo at the center, which is where you check in and receive your name bag and tour resources.
Be sure to bring along a form of ID and your confirmation number.
Our Tour Guide started out as a retail cashier within the park, worked his way to Guest Relations, and after years of experience received the opportunity to assist guests in tour experiences. All tour guides are proficient in their theme park knowledge and are open to receiving any and all questions about the park, and Walt Disney himself.
What to Expect!
Each guest on the Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps was given a wireless pocket radio that is connected to the Tour Guide’s microphone headset. This is to make sure that you don’t miss a syllable during your tour. They have headsets available, but for a more comfortable experience, I’d suggest bringing your own set of earbuds with an AUX connection standard for most radios, mP3 players, iPhone, and Android phones.
During the Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps Tour, you can expect to board at least two attractions. The rides that we visited were NOT high intensity so you shouldn’t have to worry about missing out on this part of the experience due to height restrictions or medical conditions.
There were bathroom breaks and stops for snacks/refreshment purchases throughout our journey.
At the end of your tour, you will have your choice of food options for your end of tour meal, which includes a non-alcoholic beverage, entrée, side, and dessert. If you have any dietary restrictions, please make sure to mention this upon booking so that the Cast Member can make note of this prior to your arrival date. They will make sure to include a meal to fit your specific dietary needs.
I don’t want to give much away but what I can tell you was that tears were shed, and many hearts were full after this experience. But if you want to take a guess….just look at that window in the background of this picture!
If biographical history isn’t your preferred taste, there so many tour experiences to choose from that are just as magical as this one; if not MORE! Remember to talk to your Key to the World Travel® Planner about all of the different options.
I guess the best way to end this is with Walt’s words:
“To all who come to this happy place, welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America… with hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.”
