Disney’s Hollywood Studios®
Citizens of Hollywood – This improvisational acting troupe is stationed in many places throughout the park during the day, but my favorite is when they roll out the Red Carpet to welcome guests in the morning. Don’t be shy! Take a walk down the carpet just before you enter the turnstiles. You might get asked “Who are you wearing?”, or receive an award for “Best Stroll with a Stroller”. Sometimes they start an impromptu Game Show with your whole family as contestants! You never know what’s in store!
Green Army Man Training – Sarge and three of his Privates (Private Practice, Private Eyes and Private Dancer) march through Pixar Place in search of new recruits. If your little one has what it takes to become a Green Army Man, they can fall in-line for some training. They begin with a game of “Sarge Says”, followed up by three training exercises (hula hoops, bean bag toss and orange cone obstacle course). Then the new recruits will be dubbed honorary Green Army Men!
Sergio – The Italy Pavilion comes to life with authentic street-mime and juggler, Sergio! Several times a day, in front of the San Marco Campanile tower, Sergio will call a crowd to attention using his whistle. Gather around and prepare to be amused and amazed by his juggling talents. But, he can’t do it all on his own, so he’ll ask for a few volunteers to help out!
Norway Vikings – A pair of Viking men can often be found wandering around the Norway Pavilion in the afternoons. Perhaps they are searching for remnants of their ill-fated attraction Maelstrom? Whatever their purpose, don’t miss a chance to interact with these two – they might even invite you to play a game or teach you the secret Viking handshake!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park
Tam Tam Drummers of Harambe – Walking through Disney’s Animal Kingdom®, it’s not unusual to hear the sounds of drums in the air. However, there are a number of times during the day when the Africa Land comes alive with real drummers and dancers. The Tam Tam Drummers welcome everyone to move your feet and drum along to their songs. The dancers will instruct you on some of their best African inspired moves. Look for the “Street Party Today” signs in the African Marketplace.
Magic Kingdom® Park
Royal Majesty Makers – Does your little one have what it takes to become a royal? Sir Sterling and Lady Llewellyn are here to give you expertise training in etiquette, horsemanship, dragon slaying, and more. Just in front of Prince Charming Regal Carrousel in Fantasyland®, prospective Lords and Ladies can line up to become part of the fun. Pass your lessons and you might even get an invitation to the Royal Ball!
Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial – Just outside the entrance to the Pirates of the Caribbean® Attraction, Captain Jack Sparrow and his first mate, Mack set out to recruit some new crew members. Prospective recruits will be led through “Pirate 101”, including the finer points of sword fighting. After taking the pirate oath, all new recruits receive a certificate of membership signed by the Captain himself!
These are just some of the many fun events that can unfold throughout your stay at Walt Disney World® Resort. For all of these magical experiences and more, check the Times Guide every day for show times, or check the My Disney Experience App. Keep your eyes peeled because you never know where the magic might happen next!
