When you are visiting Walt Disney World® Resort, one of the many experiences that can be planned is a character meal. There are so many great meals to choose from and all of them can be booked in advance.

Many people look forward to dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table, at Chef Mickey’s, or at one of the other popular character meals. These are the reservations that will be taken quickly! However, did you know that there are many others to choose from? These hidden gems are those meals that you may not be aware of but are definitely worth a look!

1900 Park Fare

This restaurant is found at the elegant and beautiful Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. It offers two different character dining experiences for guests to choose from.

The Supercalifragilistic Breakfast is an all-you-care-to-eat buffet featuring some classic Disney characters that may include Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, The Mad Hatter, Winnie the Pooh, and Tigger!

Many people automatically think of Cinderella’s Royal Table when they think of a princess meal. However, Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner is the second character meal available at this restaurant and is sure to be a memorable experience for any princess fan! During this all-you-care-to-enjoy dinner, you may find yourself dancing with Cinderella or Prince Charming. You may even encounter Lady Tremaine and her daughters! Be sure to mention how pretty Cinderella looks!

Cape May Café

The Cape May Café is found at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. The character meal is at breakfast only but is a great way to start your day! Here you will meet Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. You may consider this option if you are heading to Epcot® or Disney’s Hollywood Studios® because they are both a quick walk or boat ride away!

The Garden Grill

Found in Epcot®, in the Land Pavilion, this restaurant is one of my personal favorites. You can choose to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner here and the food is served family-style right at your table! The great thing about this restaurant is that some of the food is grown right on Disney property!

While you eat, you will get visits from some of your favorite characters including Mickey Mouse, Pluto and Chip and Dale. Since this restaurant often seems less busy, you may even see the characters more than once throughout your meal! The character interactions are always fun and the food is amazing!

Crystal Palace

If you are looking for a place to dine and meet with Pooh and friends, this is the place to be! Found in the Magic Kingdom®, this buffet-style option is available for all three meals. It is the perfect opportunity to get a hug from that silly old bear or practice your bounce with Tigger! Since this restaurant is inside the Magic Kingdom® and right off of Main Street, U.S.A.® it is very convenient if you are looking for a break from the Florida heat.

Trattoria Al Forno

This restaurant offers a character meal for breakfast only. The Bon Voyage breakfast was an exciting addition from the time it was announced. This character meal is a rare opportunity to meet some of the Disney princes! Here, you can meet Prince Eric or show off your “smolder” with Flynn Rider, along with Princess Ariel and Rapunzel! Many people do not realize that this restaurant is a quick walk from Epcot®. The food is absolutely delicious too!

With so many great options, you are sure to find a favorite character meal! These are a few choices that may not be as well-known as others. Regardless, you will want to make reservations for these character meals, starting at 180 days prior to check-in. Your Key to the World Travel® Advisor can help with all of these details!
