Looking for a relaxing getaway after time at the theme parks during your Walt Disney World® visit? Would you like to extend your vacation after returning from a Disney Cruise? Or, are you in need of a beach vacation but still want that Disney magic? Then you will want to consider a visit to Disney’s Vero Beach Resort.

Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, which is one of the original Disney Vacation Club Resorts, is situated on Florida’s Atlantic Treasure Coast approximately 2 hours southeast of Walt Disney World®. The Treasure Coast section of Florida received its name due to the tons of treasure lost by the Spanish “Treasure Fleet” which sunk off the coast during a hurricane in 1715. This often overlooked Disney resort destination is a treasure itself to those looking for a relaxing beach vacation combined with that touch of Disney magic.

Disney’s Vero Beach Resort falls under the Deluxe Resort category with standard rooms, studios with kitchenettes and one and two bedrooms villas. For larger groups, there are several beachfront cottages available that sleep up to 12. The cottages come at a premium and usually have limited availability. The main building houses the standard resort rooms, many with fantastic ocean views. Early risers will be treated to the stunning Florida sunrise over the ocean as they start their day.

You will find everything you have grown to expect from a Deluxe Disney Resort at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, including a wonderfully themed pool and many dining options.

The resort’s main restaurant, Wind & Waves Grill, has something for every member of the family. If it’s a character meal you are looking for, then make sure you reserve time for breakfast on Saturday mornings. Goofy’s Beachside Character Breakfast is held at the Seagrape located next to the Wind & Waves Grill every Saturday morning from 7:30 am – 11:00 am. Goofy & Donald dressed in their beach attire will visit with you while you enjoy traditional breakfast fare.

Do you have little swashbucklers in your group? Then walk the plank to Pirate Night Dinner at Seagrape every Monday night thru Sept 2, 2019. There are two seating times for this all-you-care-to-eat pirate-themed family style meal; 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

Poolside snacks and fare can be enjoyed from the Wind & Waves Market. Here you’ll find delicious sandwiches, burgers, and salads, along with many desserts and sweets to be enjoyed from this grab-n-go style market – including Dole Whips!

Adjacent to the Wind & Waves Market is the Wind and Waves Bar serving up plenty of adult libations and non-alcoholic beverages to make your day by the pool a total escape. If cocktails and light fare with an amazing ocean view sounds good to you then The Green Cabin Room is the place to go. This old world style lounge is located up the staircase from the main lobby and provides gorgeous views of the Atlantic Ocean. Make sure to ask for a table on the outside deck for the full experience.

What’s a trip to the beach without beach activities? There are all kinds of activities to choose from. Of course, the resort’s main pool (which is Mickey shaped) has plenty of space to relax by while watching the kids enjoy the Pirate’s Plunge Pool Slide. The Pirate’s Plunge is a two-story, 163 ft spiral slide that kids of all ages can enjoy. Smaller guests will love the Tiger Lilly Wet Play Area, a splash pad play area with water cannons and a mini water slide that is sized just right.  Mini-golf fans will be happy to see Port Holes, a 9 hole miniature golf course located right within the main pool area.

Or maybe you’re looking for the tranquility of a beach chair & umbrella as you relax oceanside. For the more adventurous guests, you can rent boogie boards or sailboats. Not fast enough for you? Grab a jet ski and speed across the waves of the Atlantic. All these items are available to rent along with banana boats and kayaks. Visit Eb & Flo’s by the main pool for rentals.

For supervised child activities, guests can inquire about the kid’s clubs and other events upon check-in. Kids ages 4 -12 can enjoy the Disney Discovery Club which includes scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, and other fun activities with dinner included. Other options for older children are Teen Geo Challenge and TeeNightz. Both are seasonal activities so check with the front desk when you arrive for more information.

If these activities are a little more than what you’re looking for then maybe a visit to The Spa at Disney’s Vero Beach might be in order. Sit back and relax at this full service and treatment spa located in the main resort building. As you can see Disney’s Vero Beach Resort has an activity for every member of the family to enjoy.

Can I get Disney souvenirs at Disney Vero Beach Resort you ask? Absolutely! The Island Grove Packing Co. has some great resort specific merchandise in addition to a small amount of traditional Disney souvenirs, jewelry, and grocery items. The store is located off the main lobby immediately to the right of the entrance. If it’s big-time shopping you’re interested in you can find over 50 designer outlets just 30 minutes away at the Vero Beach Outlets. Other activities that are nearby are numerous 18 hole golf courses and historic Dodgertown, for those baseball nostalgists.

Disney’s Vero Beach Resort may not be as well known as the resorts located on Walt Disney World® property. However, guests who have stayed here, and continue to make it a part of their visits to the sunshine state, will tell you it’s exactly what you want in a beach destination with that added Disney touch.
