Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is a moderate-level resort hotel at the Walt Disney World Resort designed to reflect the vibe of the New Orleans French Quarter. This hotel originally opened in 1991 with just three buildings and has since expanded. However, it maintains a quaint and charming feel and is the smallest of the moderate resorts.

Step back in time to the historic French Quarter in New Orleans as you walk along cobblestone paths and enjoy ornate architecture. This moderate resort is located near Disney Springs and is the sister resort to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. If you are a guest staying at one of these resorts, it’s easy to walk over to the other to use the amenities and enjoy additional dining options.

All Dining & Lounges

This resort has a quick-service food court and lounges for guests to enjoy. In addition, it is a short walk to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, where guests can enjoy additional dining including a table-service restaurant.

Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory

This family-friendly food court serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are a variety of options to choose from including Creole and Cajun-inspired cuisine.

Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge

Enjoy some New Orleans-style music while sipping on Southern-style cocktails, beers, or wines. You’re sure to feel as though you’re hanging out in the French Quarter!

Scat Cat’s Club – Café

This quick-service spot is located right outside the lounge and features the popular Mickey-shaped beignets. Choose from a few different options including a Sundae, Baton Rouge Beignets, and your choice of dipping sauce.

Mardi Grogs

This lounge is located near the Doubloon Lagoon. Grab your choice of beverage including wine, sangria, or draft beers. Then, you can sip and enjoy the views or even take a stroll along the Sassagoula River!

 

Pools, Grounds, & Recreation

Pools

The pool at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is known as the Doubloon Lagoon. It features a fun Mardi Gras theme with an alligator band and a blue sea serpent waterslide. Poolside activities are also available including themed pool games, trivia, and more!

Guests also have access to Ol’ Man Island – the main pool at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside.

South Quarter Games

Enjoy video games, pinball, air hockey, and more at this arcade located in The Mint building. The arcade is open daily. Purchase your game card using cash or credit card and then refill it as you please to use at any of the other Walt Disney World Resort arcades.

Movies Under the Stars

After a day at the parks, enjoy complimentary movie screenings under the stars on select nights. These screenings are located at the courtyard between buildings 5 and 6 at 8:30 pm on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Cajun Campfire Activities

Head to the courtyard between buildings 5 & 6 for some old-fashioned family fun as the sun goes down. You can roast marshmallows and hang out by the fire every night from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

Bike Rentals & Surrey Bike Rentals

Go for a relaxing bike ride along the beautiful waterfront pathways of the resort. Bike rentals are available at the marina.

For a covered 2-person or 4-person surrey bike, head over to the Riverside Levee Marina to rent one and enjoy a leisurely ride.

Jogging Trail

Enjoy a walk or run on this mile-long paved trail along the banks of the Sassagoula River.

Fishing

Grab an old-fashioned cane pole and enjoy catch-and-release fishing on Ol’ Man Island.

Playground

Kids will love climbing, sliding, and playing at this courtyard playground, located near the Doubloon Lagoon.

Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides (Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside)

Head to the Riverside Levee Marina to enjoy a 25-minute horse-drawn carriage ride along the banks of the Sassagoula River. The cost is $55 and each carriage holds up to 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 small children.  Advance reservations are recommended.
