Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is one of the original resort hotels at the Walt Disney World Resort. Opening in 1971, it features a tropical theme designed to take guests away to the South Seas right from arrival!

‘Ohana

This restaurant is a popular option for a great sit-down meal filled with Polynesian flavors. Breakfast and dinner are available here. Enjoy scrambled eggs, character waffles, and more at breakfast. At dinner, sail away to the South Pacific and enjoy the music and tikis in this relaxing setting. Enjoy options such as grilled teriyaki beef, grilled chicken, spicy peel-and-eat shrimp, and of course, the ‘Ohana noodles. We can’t forget the noodles!

Kona Café

This restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a relaxed café setting. Find traditional American favorites with an Asian twist. Plus, watch the onstage sushi kitchen as you enjoy your meal.

Capt. Cook’s

This quick-service location offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night options. Choices include Tonga Toast or Mickey Waffles for breakfast and an assortment of sandwiches, salads, and more for lunch and dinner.

Pineapple Lanai

This is the place to be if you are looking for a frozen, pineapple-flavored treat! Located right outside the Great Ceremonial House, this quick-service restaurant serves the famous DOLE Whip® in a few different ways!

Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto

This lounge is a popular tropical tiki bar with unique food and drinks. Reservations are not taken in advance so be sure to arrive early! This popular spot fills up and may have a wait to enter.

Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace

Enjoy all of Trader Sam’s favorites at this outdoor lounge as you relax to island music and a tropical theme.

Tambu Lounge

Head to the Great Ceremonial House and pull up a stool here for tropical drinks and snacks with a taste of Hawaii.

Oasis Bar & Grill

Enjoy a refreshing drink poolside when you head to this bar and grill with a variety of beverages such as wine, beer, and tropical cocktails.

Barefoot Pool Bar

Sit along the beach as you sip on tropical drinks and enjoy an amazing view of the Seven Seas Lagoon and the Magic Kingdom.

Pools, Grounds, & Recreation

Pools

The Lava Pool is the feature pool showcasing a volcano, waterfall, and 142-foot-long waterslide. There is a zero-depth entry, similar to a beach, and a pool bar nearby serving drinks and snacks.

The Oasis Pool is a leisure pool for all ages. It is perfect for a relaxing swim and a great place to unwind.

Movies Under the Stars

After a day at the parks, enjoy complimentary movie screenings under the stars. These screenings are located on the Great Ceremonial House Lawn.

Motorized Boat Rentals & Fishing

Head to the Seven Seas Marina to rent a boat and enjoy a relaxing ride around the Seven Seas Lagoon. Boats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests must be 18 years of age or over and will need to present a valid driver’s license, state-issued ID, or Military ID to rent a boat.

Guided fishing excursions are available from the resort and are appropriate for all ages. Choose from a 2-hour or 4-hour excursion. The following are included:

  • An experienced guide
  • Rod & reel
  • Tackle
  • Artificial and/or live bait
  • Non-alcoholic beverages

Please note that life jackets are required for guests ages 12 and under and all fishing is catch-and-release only.

Polynesian Village Campfire Activities

Head over to the campfire for some family fun, complete with marshmallows for roasting and family-friendly fun.

Volleyball

There is a sandy volleyball court located between the Hawaii and Tahiti buildings. Volleyballs may be checked out at no cost from the Seven Seas Marina with your MagicBand or Card.

Jogging Trail

There is a 1-mile-long path available for guests to use for jogging or walking. This path connects Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Enjoy views of the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s wedding pavilion, and the lagoon as you walk or jog.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Transportation

Get around the Walt Disney World Resort with ease using any of the convenient, complimentary transportation options.

In addition, for guests looking for a private transfer, Minnie Vans are available through the Lyft mobile app. This is an added fee, based on your final destination, and includes car seats if needed.

How to get to each park:

While staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, you may be wondering how you can get to each park using the free transportation systems offered at Walt Disney World. We have it broken down for you:

  • Magic Kingdom: The monorail is available to take guests to the Magic Kingdom. There are also water taxis.
  • EPCOT: The monorail is available to take guests to the Ticket and Transportation Center, with a transfer to EPCOT.
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios: There are free resort buses that offer transportation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. These buses run approximately every 20 minutes from the resort until an hour after the park closes.
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom: There are free resort buses that offer transportation to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. These buses run approximately every 20 minutes from the resort until an hour after the park closes.
  • Disney Springs and Water Parks: There are free resort buses that offer transportation to Disney Springs and the water parks nearly every 20 minutes from the resort. Buses typically run for an hour after Disney Springs or the water park close.
Parking

*Guests who drive either their own vehicle or a rental car to Walt Disney World should know that a standard overnight self-parking fee of $25 per night will be applied to the guest hotel folio upon check-out. Valet parking is available for $33 per night. Complimentary standard self-parking is available while you enjoy select dining, shopping, entertainment, and recreation experiences at this resort.
