With big thrills come height requirements, and experiences too intense for younger riders. Fortunately, with Child Swap thrill seekers don’t have to miss out on their favorite attractions when visiting with little ones.
What is it?
Universal’s Child Swap allows one adult to wait with any non-riders, while everyone else experiences the thrills. Once the other adult gets off the ride, they swap places and wait with the non-riders, while the waiting adult gets right on the attraction without having to wait in line. Everybody goes home happy!
How to use Child Swap at Universal Orlando Resort
- All members of your party enter the ride queue, whether they’re riding or not. Let the Team Member at the entrance know that you need to use child swap. Once you reach the loading platform, at least one adult plus all non-riders will be given a child swap ticket. Team members will direct you to the nearby family waiting room. This is a room nearby, usually with fans or air conditioning, and sometimes equipped with a television to keep little ones occupied.
- While the non-riders wait, the other group rides.
- Once the ride is done, the adults swap places so the non-riders are still supervised and everyone gets has fun.
- The second adult, plus anyone from the group that wants to ride, returns to the loading platform with child swap ticket. Team members will help you board with minimal wait time required.

- As long as the adult who waited the first time rides with the second group, anyone from your party can go with them. This is a great opportunity for members of your party to get a second ride with minimal wait time!
- While it’s preferred that you wait in the designated rider swap room, Team Members understand that some little ones might have a hard time waiting in an enclosed area. Longer or noisier attractions could prove especially challenging. If you need a little more room, talk to a nearby attendant. Usually, it’s ok to exit and wait outside. When it’s your turn to ride, return to the Express Lane entrance with your child swap pass.
