5 Reasons to Celebrate the Holidays at Disney World

We’re halfway to the holidays, and there’s no better place to celebrate than at The Most Magical Place on Earth!

Featuring dazzling decorations, special parades, nighttime spectaculars, and delicious treats around every corner, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Here are five new and returning offerings that will help you have the ultimate holiday celebration at Walt Disney World Resort!

Disney Jollywood Nights is back!

Once again, Disney is rolling out the red carpet for Disney Jollywood Nights! On select nights November 9 through December 21, prepare to get holly and jolly during this limited capacity, separately ticketed event.

  • Gather on Hollywood Boulevard for an all new dazzling skating spectacular set to favorite holiday tunes. Several times each evening, international champion skaters will put on an awe-inspiring twist on the traditional ice show.
  • Special character encounters were a highlight of last year’s celebrations at Disney Hollywood Studios, and this year even more Disney friends are coming out to meet with guests. More than 20 unique characters will be out and about, including returning favorites Phineas and Ferb, Santa Duffy Bear and Santa Stitch, plus some new faces including Bo Peep, Lotso Bear, and Baloo and King Louie from TaleSpin. Disney PhotoPass downloads are included in your event ticket to help remember all the fun!
  • Returning culinary favorites – including the iconic Gertie the dinosaur cookie! – will be available, along with brand new holiday treats. This year, guests will also receive a sweet treat created by Wondermade when exiting the park!
  • The night will be packed with entertaining shows like What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along, Disney Holidays in Hollywood, and Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!
  • The Holiday Fiesta en la Calle featuring Jose and Panchito from The Three Caballeros will move to Animation Courtyard. The Twilight Soiree at the Tip Top Club will return to the Tower Courtyard, as well as Jazzy Holidays at the Hollywood Brown Derby.

Guests of select Disney Resorts hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels and Shades of Green can purchase tickets starting on July 2. For all other guests, tickets will go on sale July 10. The dates for 2024 are:

  • November 9, 13, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30
  • December 2, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Makes a Festive Return

The holidays are just a little merrier at Magic Kingdom, and especiallhy during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! All your favorite party events, including the parade, fireworks, holiday themed attractions, and of course the complimentary cookies and cocoa will be back for 2024.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a limited capacity five-hour holiday event, kicking off November 8 and running on select nights through December 20 from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. Guests of select Disney Resorts hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels and Shades of Green can purchase tickets starting on July 2. For all other guests, tickets will go on sale July 10.

The dates for 2024 are:

  • November 8, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 22, 24, 26, 27, 29
  • December 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20

EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays

Guests can enjoy the diverse sights, sounds and of course flavors of holidays around the world during the EPCOT international Festival of the Holidays, running November 29 through December 30. Learn about how people around the world celebrate the winter holidays with enchanting holiday storytellers, delicious traditional dishes at Holiday Kitchens located throughout the park, and festive decor and surprises around the park.

The fan-favorite Candlelight Processional returns this year. Listen to celebrity narrators tell the Christmas story, accompanied by a full orchestra and choir. Check back later for this year’s lineup of narrators for this moving experience.

Everywhere you look, there’s holiday fun!

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, the Merry Menagerie returns, featuring artisan-sculpted life size winter animal puppets wandering near the Tree of Life amongst beautiful winter decor. Don’t forget to meet with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy in their festive attire!

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Hollywood Tower Hotel yuletide projection show (and of course snow on Sunset Boulevard!) will return, and Woody, Jessie, and Buzz LIghtyear will don their best holiday outfits to greet guests in Toy Story Land.

Magic Kingdom will host the “Frozen Holiday Surprise” stage show in front of Cinderella Castle nightly, featuring Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff, and a whole pack of adorable Snowgies!

Disney Springs is the perfect spot for holiday shopping, surrounded by dazzling decorations and the popular Christmas Tree Stroll, plus the magical snowfall nightly in Town Center!

No holiday celebration would be complete with a visit from Santa Claus. This year he’ll be making appearances at all four parks, Disney Springs, and even the Disney Water parks – where he’ll be wearing his best tropical holiday beachwear! Don’t miss this chance to snap the perfect family portrait!

Gingerbread Houses and Decor Galore
