Updates to Accessibility Services at Disney Parks

by Apr 9, 2024

Today, Disney updated their Accessibility Services websites for the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, which showcase a variety of tools guests can use to plan their visit, make their time in the parks more enjoyable, and help identify the services they require.

They also announced changes to Accessibility Services and the Disability Access Service (DAS) pass, to ensure that guests who truly need the help of these services are able to maintain access to them.

5 Key Things To Know About Disney Parks Accessibility Service Updates

  • More Cast Members are being added to the Accessibility Services teams at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. Additionally, Disney is investing in specialized training at both parks to help guests understand the tools and services available to them, and select the proper options based on their needs.
  • Accessibility Services teams at both parks continue to be available at the theme parks as well as prior to your visit, ready to assist guests with any questions they have about accessibility services. They also strongly encourage guests to engage with the teams pre-arrival, through their website and virtual video chat sessions, in order to be best prepared for their visit.
  • Disney’s Accessibility Services is teaming with health professionals from Inspire Health Alliance to help Cast Members, as needed, determine eligibility for appropriate accommodations, and ensure that these accommodations are provided only to the guests for whom they are intended.
  • Every effort will be taken to ensure Disability Access Service (DAS) is reserved for those it’s intended to accommodate. Only guests who are unable to wait in a traditional queue for extended times due to a developmental disability like autism or similar will be able to use this service.  Enrollment in DAS has been extended from 60 to 120 days. Additionally, DAS party size will be adjusted to include no more than 4 people, except for immediate family members.
  • These changes will take effect on May 20 at the Walt Disney World Resort  and on June 18 at the Disneyland Resort.
