Jedi Training Academy

AGENT NAME:  Jessica Forrer

FAVORITE EXTRA MAGIC TO ADD TO YOUR TRIP: Jedi Training Academy

LOCATION: Disney’s Hollywood Studios®

FAST PASS + OFFERED OR RESERVATION REQUIRED? Nope

COST: Included in your park admission

WHY DO YOU LOVE THIS? Where else can you watch your child learn to master the force, use a lightsaber, and fight Darth Vader and Kylo Ren!!  If you love Star Wars, this is a fun way for your kids to immerse themselves in the Star Wars world and a fun show for the adults.

WHAT TIPS WOULD YOU OFFER SOMEONE WHO WANTED TO DO THIS EXTRA MAGIC EVENT? Arrive at Disney’s Hollywood Studios® 1 hour prior to opening. They will let you into the park 30 minutes before opening to sign up, but everyone who wants to participate has to be present once you arrive at the front of the line.

Pirate Adventure Cruises

AGENT NAME: Megan Ross

FAVORITE EXTRA MAGIC TO ADD TO YOUR TRIP: Pirate Adventure Cruise

LOCATION(S): Departs from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Marina, Caribbean Cay Island at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort or the Bayside Maria at the Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort.

FAST PASS + OFFERED OR RESERVATION REQUIRED? Reservation is Required.   Payment is not due until arrival and must be canceled 24 hours in advance.

COST: Currently $52.19 per child (includes tax)

WHY DO YOU LOVE THIS?

Pirate Adventure cruises leave from several locations on Disney Property, are for kids ages 4-12 and last from 9:30-11:30 am. These experiences are a great way for both boys and girls to get away for a couple of hours and have their own adventure – without their parents!  They will hear stories of pirate legends, get clues and then follow them on land and sea to find the Hidden Treasure!  They then get to divide the treasure between themselves and each child will also receive a Pirate Mickey Ear Hat, eye patch and Sword to take home as a Souvenir along with their pirate booty.  Overall, it’s a fun and unique adventure that won’t break the bank!

WHAT TIPS WOULD YOU OFFER SOMEONE WHO WANTED TO DO THIS EXTRA MAGIC EVENT?

  • If you choose to do the Cruise from the Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort, they’ll actually take the boat into Epcot®, which is a little added extra fun!
  • They will have a light snack, goldfish, and water, but you’ll want to make sure your child eats before they go.
  • Take them to the bathroom right before you drop them off, the cast members are not allowed to take them to the restroom, nor is there any place for them to stop once they are on the boat.
  • Wear sunscreen and a hat or sunglasses as the entire adventure takes place outside.

Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review

AGENT NAME: Kassie Mauch

FAVORITE EXTRA MAGIC TO ADD TO YOUR TRIP: Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue

LOCATION(S): Pioneer Hall, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

FAST PASS + OFFERED OR RESERVATION REQUIRED? Reservation definitely required, 180 days in advance. Prepaid dinner show.

COST: $38-$72 per person, depending on seating category

WHY DO YOU LOVE THIS? We love the interactive cast, the corny jokes, and the family-friendly atmosphere. The food is served family style with plenty of options for kids and adults alike. While there aren’t any bad seats in the house, we prefer category 1 or 2 for proximity to the stage and the chance at being a part of the show. There are two seatings for the show and transportation is available by bus and boat. To make it easier, we typically spend the day at the Magic Kingdom®, then take the ferry over to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. From Magic Kingdom®, allow at least 1.5 hours for transportation and check-in. Do plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled show time.

WHAT TIPS WOULD YOU OFFER SOMEONE WHO WANTED TO DO THIS EXTRA MAGIC EVENT?  Take advantage of all Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground has to offer before the show. During the holidays, it is always fun to arrive to Fort Wilderness early and take a horse-drawn carriage ride around the campgrounds to see the holiday decorations at the campsites. In addition, Fort Wilderness offers horseback riding that can be a fun way to start your day.

Fireworks Dessert Party

AGENT NAME: Brittany De John

FAVORITE EXTRA MAGIC TO ADD TO YOUR TRIP: Fireworks Dessert Party.

LOCATION(S): Magic Kingdom®

FAST PASS + OFFERED OR RESERVATION REQUIRED? Reservation required

COST: $59 each (subject to change).

WHY DO YOU LOVE THIS? It was very relaxing and we had an amazing unobstructed view of the fireworks. We were in the hub grass area and everyone sat down which was nice. It was perfect way to celebrate our anniversary.

WHAT TIPS WOULD YOU OFFER SOMEONE WHO WANTED TO DO THIS EXTRA MAGIC EVENT?

Book as soon as you can as it fills up quickly! There are two dessert parties at Magic Kingdom, one is the plaza view and one is the Tomorrowland Terrace view. We did the Plaza view and it’s the exact same food but $20 cheaper. The difference is that with the plaza view you are escorted to the hub grass area that is roped off for you. Tomorrowland Terrace has you stay at the tables you ate at to watch the fireworks. I personally would rather be in the hub area so I can really be surrounded by the magic!

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Lobby

Not all extra magic experiences come at an additional cost! In our last favorite extra magical experience an agent shares with us something to at costs no extra and still brings an additional wonder to your trip!

AGENT NAME: Brigitte Smallwood

FAVORITE EXTRA MAGIC TO ADD TO YOUR TRIP: Enjoying the lobby of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

LOCATION: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

FAST PASS + OFFERED OR RESERVATION REQUIRED? No

COST: Free

WHY DO YOU LOVE THIS?

While we love the excitement inside the parks sometimes, we just want to relax indoors and recharge. The Grand Floridian lobby has a lot to offer and is a quick monorail ride from the Magic Kingdom®.  For my family, the best part about the Grand Floridian lobby is the live music.  The main lobby provides the perfect ambiance for the grand pianist that performs enchanting melodies every afternoon.  Let the pianist play the background music while your toddler naps in their stroller or the orchestra provide the music to get you up on your feet.  Hop on the monorail and enjoy

WHAT TIPS WOULD YOU OFFER SOMEONE WHO WANTED TO DO THIS EXTRA MAGIC EVENT?

  • Musicians typically play daily but a detailed schedule is provided on Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa website.
  • Ride the resort monorail from the Magic Kingdom® Park, transportation center, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, or Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • If you go in the evening walk out to the Seven Seas Lagoon to catch the Magic Kingdom® fireworks or the nightly Electrical Water Pageant
  • Purchase a unique pin or gift from one of the many shops to commemorate this part of your vacation

These are just a few of the extra magic experiences awaiting you at the Walt Disney Resort! Let your Key to the World Travel® Agent help you decide what is the perfect fit for you to add to your vacation!
